As one might well suspect, eloquent soup societies like ours always have plenty to discuss. Hot topics as deliciously diverse as what spices bring out the best in beetroot? Is celeriac an idyllic flavour buddy for leeks? Is the use of thermos flasks ever acceptable or are they an affront to great taste? And just how profound were the lyrics of 10cc, when they once suggested that "Life is a Minestrone"?
Soup comes in so many textures and colours from lumpy, chunky and opaque to silky, smooth and transparent. Although a majority of soups are at their best served hot, there’s always the odd Gazpacho that prefers to exude a more chilly aura.
It’s quite incredible to think that even in these days of infinite eating options that a meal so simple as soup can still deliver on so many different levels. For some soup will always be a flavoursome fast food, whilst for others it’s a substantial snack, a wholesome starter or an all-in feast.
Hopefully we’ve said enough for you to consider joining our spoon-wielding collective because
at the end of the day it’s your taste buds that
matter the most.
And we'll keep you up-to-date with all things soupy!
